How to Retire Early
You can retire early and pursue the life of your dreams whether that might be to travel, volunteer or get involved in a second career, with the right strategies and by making the right choices. Retiring early takes planning, including managing expenses and reducing debt. To retire early you also have to have ample savings and separate insurance policies from your employer. You might also have to look into alternative forms of income, whether that be real estate rental income or income from stock dividends, in order to retire before age 65.

Living on a Fixed Income
Living on a fixed income is a challenge. If you or a loved one is living on a fixed income it is important to stay on top of spending and make sure that each dollar goes as far as it can. To save money, you should keep a log of spending for several months and look for places to cut expenses. Whenever possible work towards building an emergency fund to take care of unplanned car repairs or appliance repairs.

When Should I Retire?
Deciding when to retire plays a big part in what your eventual monthly income will be. If you can hold off retirement until full retirement age, which is between ages 65 and 67 depending on the year you were born, you can continue to earn income without affecting social security benefits and you qualify for Medicare.
