Finding Tax Forms

Summary: The frustrating aspects of filing taxes is never alleviated by the fact that sometimes those tax forms you need are so hard to find! Luckily there are ways to find the tax forms you need so you can file a rocking tax return!

Filing your taxes is a complicated matter and one that is not entirely comprehensible all the time and finding all the right forms for what you need only adds to the frustration sometimes. It's hard to figure out which forms you actually need and then to find them from there is even more of a task. (Something you may ask yourself is if the government wants us to pay our taxes, then why prey tell, do they make it so difficult to find what you need ?!) There are avenues you can take however to help you find the right documents you need to successfully file your taxes.

One of the first things you can do is take a trip to your local post office and check out the forms they have there. Post offices traditionally have the common forms and documents you need to file taxes. You could also hop over to the nearest IRS office and they're bound to have what you need there (if they don't then that could be a problem!). There usually will be racks or shelves where the most common forms are found, but if the form you need isn't there, you can take a number and wait in line for someone behind a desk to help you out.

If you can, you should head over to a library and find the book "1999 Package X" and that should the forms you're looking for and you can then photocopy whichever ones you need. Also, with the internet, you can access almost anything including tax forms. You can go through just about any tax website or the IRS site to download and print what you need. If you have tax software, that should also be able to give you the forms you need.

As you can see, there are numerous ways in which you can access the tax forms you need to correctly file your taxes, but the trick is just finding the right one. With all these different routes you can use to find your documents, you should have no problems filing your taxes!
